Famous Pacific Shipping in joint venture
Thursday, 04 February 2010
Famous Pacific Shipping (NZ) Ltd (FPS) has formed a joint venture with Royale International Couriers, one of the largest independent express companies in Asia, enabling the latter to establish a presence in New Zealand at a new office in Auckland.
Famous Pacific Shipping (NZ) Ltd’s managing director, Marcus Goldsworthy, will oversee the operation of the Auckland office and be responsible for fostering existing business relationships and driving new express and courier services in the New Zealand market. There are business synergies between the two companies from which the new joint venture will profit.
“Our customers will benefit from our strategic tie up with Royale International. They are the largest independent courier network in the region and Famous Pacific Shipping is a truly global network of freight forwarders. Partnering with FPS NZ will allow Royale International to expand through the South Pacific Island economies using our current activities, existing regional connections and business experience as a springboard for growth.” Mr Goldsworthy said.
“We will be working collaboratively with Famous Pacific Shipping (FPS). The combination of Royale International Couriers (NZ) Ltd and FPS group's local expertise with our brand and professionalism will create a major courier and express force in the New Zealand region,” regional general manager, Royale International Courier Group Scott Morson, commented.
