Start, better manage and grow small businesses

A new information roadshow aimed at helping small businesses start up, better manage themselves and grow, with help from the government, was launched in Dunedin late last month by the Minister for Small Business, Clayton Cosgrove. Mr Cosgrove at the same time launched a new publication, Start, Manage and Grow Your Business, which provides case studies of business people who solved their business problems with help from government agencies.

National Party Deputy Leader Bill English says the decision on election-year broadcasting allocations is a “port in the electoral storm” which has surrounded Labour’s self serving Electoral Finance Act. “The way broadcasting time is allocated is one of the few things that survived Labour’s attempt the screw the electoral scrum in its favour during the election year.

Few relationships are as warm, enduring and characterised by such friendly rivalry and mature co-operation as that between New Zealand and Australia. The strength of the bond between New Zealanders and our trans-Tasman neighbours has become a part of our identity as a nation, from the comradeship of the early Anzacs to the trade, business, diplomatic, sporting and travel relationships of the present day.
