Has the global meltdown finished? I don’t think so. I’m more inclined to believe the Goldman Sachs model that shows banks have absorbed US 1 Trillion in losses on mortgages and other bad debts, and that is only the halfway point. (How much is a Trillion anyway?)

Welcome to 2009. Sure the markets are still bad and volatility is high. It appears that we are not going to see a massive improvement for some time to come. Clearly cash is king and most portfolios will still have a proportion of growth assets such as shares and property funds, which are not looking too flash. But it doesn’t mean it is time to panic.
