Enterprising Manukau are thrilled at the number of businesses rising to the challenge offered by the Westpac Manukau Business Excellence Awards: the entries are flooding in, making this the most popular round of these Awards ever hosted.
“We’ve received more than double the number of entrants compared to last year,” CEO of Enterprising Manukau, Gaelle Deighton, said. “And what we’re particularly delighted about is the high quality of the entries and of the businesses taking part.” Gaelle added, “It’s going to be very tough indeed for the judges to pick the Finalists when the standard is so high.”
Manukau Mayor Len Brown is also delighted about the popularity of the Awards. “It says a great deal about Manukau businesses, that they’re taking action and facing the challenges with a positive approach. The awards have become a benchmark for business success, so I’m looking forward to seeing who the finalists are and hearing about their achievements.”
Finalists will be announced at the Finalists’ Function at Villa Maria Estate on 29 July. The grand finale will be on 18 September at the glamorous black-tie gala dinner where the winners will be announced.
Entry categories have been specially designed so that there are relevant choices for all manner of industries and business sizes.
Categories include employer of choice, exporting, manufacturing, innovation and strategy, service delivery, emerging business, environmental management, tourism and hospitality, ACC workplace safety, and two nominated categories; business contribution to the community and young business person of the year.
