Being a former government department did not stop Downer EDI Works Limited from winning one of the country’s largest and most prestigious business awards, the Westpac Manukau Business Excellence Supreme Award.
Formerly the Ministry of Works, the company employs around 3,000 staff in New Zealand, is represented in almost every New Zealand community and prides itself on investing in the individual, a policy that saw it also win the Brookfield Lawyers Employer of Choice Award.
Presented at a black tie dinner at the TelstraClear Pacific Events Centre in August the awards also recognised:
