Web Drive launches managed server hosting
Wednesday, 18 March 2009
Albany-based web hosting provider Web Drive today recently unveiled their new server hosting web site targeted at enterprise customers.
Daniel Williams.
As the managed hosting provider to a number of New Zealand’s most popular web sites including Finda and Price Spy and with the addition of Neil Webster from US-based Rack Space, Web Drive are well-positioned to move into the enterprise server market.
“Having lead the New Zealand market in Dedicated and Virtual Server hosting for small and medium-sized businesses Web Drive are now focusing on expanding into larger enterprises looking to outsource their IT and web server hosting requirements.
“This involves adding a new layer of support and service not usually found with a hosting provider,” says managing director Daniel Williams.
Partnering with IT service providers and working directly with customers Web Drive will deliver a server hosting service that reduces the requirement for capital expense and in-house staff.
Services include disaster recovery planning, managed server support and monitoring as well as application and complex hosting.
Williams says, “If you are a larger business or organisation and are looking to deploy servers in-house the capital expense is significant as well as the labour required to setup and manage this process.
“You need to be certain that this is a long-term strategy otherwise you are stuck with some very expensive under utilised hardware.
“Outsourcing these requirements allows customers to benefit from our existing infrastructure and to grow on demand.”
You can visit the new web site at: www.servers.webdrive.co.nz.
