New Zealand winemaker Nadine Worley has been named one of two Kiwi finalists for the coveted Wine Society Young Winemaker of the Year Award.
The awards, now in their eleventh year, are held annually to recognise and reward the talents of the most exceptional young Winemakers in Australia and New Zealand.
Nadine says she is thrilled to be named as a finalist.
“It’s such a treat to be able to make wines from New Zealand’s three most exciting wine regions. Winemaking is something I am incredibly passionate about and I cannot think of a better way to have my craft acknowledged than to be nominated for an award as prestigious as this.”
A winemaker at the award-winning Mud House Winery in Marlborough, Nadine has been perfecting her craft for more than ten years. She began her winemaking career in Australia working with cool climate varietals in Victoria and the Adelaide Hills before spending two vintages at a family winery in Italy and a vintage in Oregon in the United States.
A preference for cool-climate winemaking led Nadine to Mud House in Marlborough, where she has been working since 2006. Since joining Mud House, their wines have received eight trophies and approximately 60 gold medals.
The winners of the Young Winemaker of the Year will be announced at a gala evening in Sydney on November 18.
