Sound marketing initiatives have paid off for 2degrees which has announced an increased customer base of more than 300,000 in less than 12 months.
CEO, Eric Hertz, says his team has been humbled by the speed at which New Zealanders have joined the company.
“Almost a year ago, we were thrilled to announce that 580,111 customers had chosen 2degrees. We spent the rest of that year developing new network and products, opening new stores and focusing on our New Zealand-based customer service, so it’s extremely rewarding to see those efforts deliver results.”
He says more than 275,000 customers have brought their existing numbers to 2degrees, “signalling an end to the days where people were locked to their network by their number.”
After two and a half years in the market, 2degrees now serves 875,656 customers. Mr Hertz says the company’s business services’, which offer value smartphones and new products and plans, have contributed to the increase.
“New Zealanders are using smarter phones to make their business and personal lives easier. They’ve been frustrated by complex pricing which hits them in the wallet,” he says.
“Plans that provide them with ‘talk-as-much-as-you-like’ calling have been truly liberating.”
