Clean energy firm LanzaTech has appointed Jennifer McFarlane, as its first chief financial officer (CFO).
Australian-born Ms McFarlane joins from her role as CFO at Californian solar energy services company ClearSpot Energy where she helped finance a number of solar projects and arranged the acquisition of solar developer CleanSource Power.
After completing a law degree and BSc in Organic Chemistry/Biochemistry from the University of NSW in Australia, Ms McFarlane received her MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business and joined Salomon Brothers in New York.
At Salomon, Ms McFarlane executed numerous cross-border M&A transactions and equity offerings. Next she joined KPMG and built up its privatization expertise in emerging markets in Europe and Asia.
In 1998, Ms McFarlane returned to Australia as executive director of the ASX listed Southern Pacific Petroleum. During her time there she was awarded the Centenary Medal for Business Contribution by the Prime Minister of Australia.
From 2004-2007, Ms McFarlane was CEO of Astia, a global non-profit organization focused on increasing the number of successful women-led technology-based businesses.
